what is there to do
I have found myself trying to find thingd to keep myself and my children occupied. I am not the one to walk around the mall or to allow my children to watch television or play video games all day. I have been searching for things to do the stimulate my girls, make them think outiside the box, or that just occupies their minds for more than five minutes at a time. A few weeks back we went to the Apple Orchard on a saturday morning. It was fun but quite busy as it is probably the most "commercial" orchard in the area. They learned a little about bees and honey, there was no one around to help us so I did my best at explaining why the bees were behind glass and why the Queen had red paint on her butt. Interesting to say the least. The girls picked apples, rode on the tractor and were tired after about an hour. Is it weird to anyone else, that now as a mom I get weirded out about my kids touching the animals? They are just smelly and dirty...but ahhhh, yes they are adorable and kids are drawn to them like the sounds of the ice cream truck on a hot summer day. My girls had fun but once home, the muddy shoes stayed at the door,I stripped them down and put them in the tub. Hey, there's nothing wrong like smelling like Irish Spring, instead of smelling like a Billy Goat. They slept like babies. Always on the lookout for more to do.....

Wine and Food ..What could be better
What weird weather do we have in Northwest Indiana. For most of the morning it rained, then a little sleet which turned into a thunderstorn around 6pm...and much to my surprise we got a beautiful dusting of snow after that.
I went to a wonderful place last night and wanted to share. It was called Dinner's Done (which is not a chain) and is one of the food places where you make a couple of meals there, take them home and cook them when needed....or say look honey what I made :) The uniqueness of Dinner's Done is 1. the decor, which is elegant and upscale 2. the fact that the customers choose online monthly what will be on the menu 3. The fact that you can bring your own beverages....wine, beer etc...and did I mention that they clean up all the mess you make from preparing your meal?! I was thinking can this get any better? ..and it did!
I was lucky enough to be invited on an evening for a tasting of foods from Dinner's Done and a wine tasting in one! We tasted Beef Stew, Lasagna, and Tortellini along with 7 wines.....how fabulous is that! Oh, and you can make most of the menu items without meat for all of the Skinny B followers out there! Making without the dairy would be difficult.
The wine tasting...from a local distributor called Wine Masters(Indianapolis based) that ships the wines directly to your home for a flat $12 shipping fee...so if you buy 1 bottle or 12 you pay the same shipping. The really neat thing is that the rep will do the wine tasting at your home or event for free of charge! You choose what types of wines you want them to bring and go from there. Don't worry girlfriends, I already have one in the works for us! I don't like red wines, well at least I didn't used to...NOW I LOVE reds, I mean LOVE reds..in fact I ordered a case and am patiently waiting for them to arrive at my door....
It was good company, great wine and fabulous food.....what a girl needs!
